Your Wedding is not a photoshoot
Your whole day should NOT revolve around forced set up scenarios and inauthentic moments .
Your Wedding Is Not A Photoshoot
Your wedding is about the two of you, celebrating with people you love.
Yes this may sound controversial coming from a photographer but, in my opinion, having too much emphasis on the photos, and having extensive shot lists, is NOT a good idea. In fact it can make things more stressful as you will struggle to squeeze everything into little tick boxes throughout the day.
Our job as photographers is to NOTICE what’s going on around us, and to capture genuine, authentic moments, not curate them.
So, how do you give yourself the best opportunity to get the gorgeous wedding photos you dreamed of WITHOUT turning the day into a lengthy photoshoot?
SAVE ⬇️ these 3 tips for later (number 3 is my favourite!)
1. Hold hands and stay by each other’s sides as much as possible. Not only will this ensure you have plenty of shared core memories, but it will give your photographer/videographer lots of opportunities to capture some beautiful candid shots.
2. Choose a photographer you TRUST to tell YOUR story. Someone that understands that your wedding day and memories with friends and family is more important than their own portfolio.
3. Last but not least – be present! It seems self explanatory, but try and make a conscious effort to soak it all in. Forget the camera, direct your focus to your partner and all the people there supporting you and everything else will fall into place ❤️
BONUS TIP: Bride & Groom portraits don’t have to go for long. It’s about the timing and not about the quantity of time. 25 minutes in beautiful golden hour light outweighs 2 hours of average light any day.
